Laser deep engraving machine is a high-power fiber laser marking tool for etching on any metal, including soft metals such as gold, silver, aluminum, and brass, as well as hard metals such as stainless steel, carbon steel, tool steel, magnesium, and titanium. In most cases, the depth of fiber laser metal engraving can reach 0.039 inches (1 mm), and the speed of metal engraving with fiber laser ranges from 0.04 mm3/s to 0.70 mm3/s, depending on the power of the laser generator and the focal length of the F-theta scan lens, as well as the material and hardness of the metals.
When a fiber laser engraver is etching soft metals such as aluminum, copper, brass, gold and silver, the F-theta scanning lens with a focal length of 254 mm can make the laser work at a speed between 0.41 and 0.70 mm3/s, while the F-theta scan lens with a 420 mm focal length can only allow the engraver to run at a speed from 0.22 to 0.36 mm3/s.
In the case of fiber laser engraving hard metals such as stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium and magnesium, an engraver with an F-theta scanning lens with a focal length of 254 mm is able to etch metals at a speed from 0.05 to 0.11 mm3/s, while a laser with an F-theta scanning lens with a focal length of 420 mm is capable of engraving metals at speeds between 0.04 and 0.09 mm3/s.

The STJ-60F laser deep engraver works better than expected, but there is a short learning curve. It takes some time on EZCAD software to figure out where and how to set sculpting parameters. Easy to handle painted metal like business cards since you are just burning off the paint from the surface. Deep engraving on stainless steel, brass or silver takes more work, which means slowing down and re-engraving multiple times. I was very surprised to find that the laser was powerful enough to melt all the metal surfaces of the jewelry I was personalizing. One last thing, make sure to to buy a smoke extractor, or you can open a window and vent the burning fumes outside as they are probably toxic.
